So. Assuming that this works, say you have this friend. And you just have this really awesome and very intense battle against the big bad guy with lasers and things exploding and giant robots and all that jazz. And your friend literally is awesome and did some weird crazy mind stuff with his robot lion and got his super special weapon that all of us Paladins get back and uses it to make our really really big sword super glowey and delivers the final blow.

And then, after said battle, you guys are all going back to the castle ship when you notice his lion isn't moving. So you pull it in and run to check up on him, and he's, like, not there. POOF. Gone! But his super special Paladin weapon is still in the slot where he put it to form the blazing sword and there really wasn't any sort of chance for him to, oh I don't know, get out of his lion and jet pack away.

So. Yeah. Any ideas on just what the hell happened?

[ And if this doesn't go through, then he just sounds like an idiot to his teammates. Nothing new. ]

The super special weapon most likely was beyond what he could handle and so he died. Scattered into atoms after the battle against the big bad guy with lasers.

Okay, first off, dude, seriously not cool. You don't know Shiro, that certainly didn't kill him.

Secondly, Keith and Hunk have used their bayards like that before without a problem. The lions actually tell us to do it and I really don't think they want us dead. Especially considering how often Red is running off to rescue Keith when he does something stupid. Again.

Did you come on here looking for the truth or are you just looking for someone to placate you with pats on the back who will tell you that "oh yeah, he's definitely alive"? People die - everything ends. It's a fact of life. No matter how strong or invincible you believe your friend to be, he is capable of dying.

[Yeah he is not a nice person but Nice is willing to help think up other theories too.]

If the lions are interested in the well-being of their pilots then it's possible that using the super special weapon was too much for his body to handle and so it did something that would preserve his life in some way. Without knowing the details of the incident, the abilities of the lions or even of your friend there's no way someone can know what happened to this Shiro with the little and vague details you gave.
