Misdirected call from payphone

 Hullo Mum. I'm just calling to let you know that the train arrived safely. I'm at the station in Tywyn. 

Uncle David isn't here yet, but don't worry. I'll just wait at the station for now. The guard here thought he might be running late.

I'll call again when I get to the farm.

I'm sorry. Did I dial the wrong number? [Will sounded somewhat upset by this. ]

I thought I had the right one, but maybe I wrote it down wrong.

Dunno actually. People seem to be getting wrong numbers a lot lately. So I doubt if the number is wrong-do have a way to check it?

I don't think so? I'm calling from a payphone.

A payphone? What year are you calling from? But yeah, I imagine it would be difficult to verify the number from a payphone.

1973, last I checked.

Ooo 1973! I remember that one! A lot happened that year-but then a lot happens every year.

You remember? You say it like it was a long time ago.

It's been awhile since I've been to 1973. Right now I'm in the year 7691. Also a pretty good one, I guess but something's wrong. I can just feel it. Could have something to do with why I can talk to someone in 1973.

It is strange. To be speaking to someone from the distant future is a very strange thing, and logically I should think that you were joking.

But something in me feels like this kind of thing is actually rather commonplace. Almost as if it was something I should have expected.

Well, sort of. I mean, I can call to anytime I want to in the universe and quite a bit of people can call me-but usually it's on purpose not by accident.

Is that so? How curious. That must be a rather complicated phoneline.
